School Year: Monday - Friday, After School - 6:00pmThe After School Program (ASP) is a drop-in program open to all members in grades k-6 at no charge other than the annual $20 membership fee. At the ASP members are free to chose from a variety of daily activities in each of the Club’s program areas: Gymnasium, Art Studio, Computer Technology Lab, and Gamesroom. Summer Club (Summer Camp)
Summer: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pmThe MV Boys & Girls Club Summer Club is a drop-in program open to all members entering grades 1-8 in September. Summer Club is the most affordable & fun summer day camp on the Vineyard!
THE CLUB (Programs for Jr. High School Students)
THE CLUB offers programs specifically for youth in grades 6-8. Programs are held on designated Friday nights, please see the Club Calendar for dates and planned activities.THE CLUB: Jr. High Dances are open to all youth in grades 6-8, admission is $5 at the door and no membership required. Jr. High Dances are from 7-10pm and include music, billiards, sports activities, snacks & beverages.
Samuel D. Leighton Memorial Basketball Program
The MV Boys & Girls Club offers basketball programs for youth in grades 1-6.The basketball season begins in November and runs through the end of March.Please see the Club’s Calendar for scheduled practices and games.The program is named in memory of former Club Executive Director Samuel D. Leighton (1924-2010). Sam grew up in Edgartown, served in the Marines during WWII, and was a standout athlete. He played basketball at Boston University where he set the college basketball record for most points scored in a single game at the Boston Garden.
Youth of the Year & Member of the Month
Each month the Club’s Staff selects a youth to represent the Club as the Member of the Month. The Member of the Month is not a competition, but rather a recognition of a youth who personifies the Club experience and serves as a positive example to his/her peers.Annually the Club’ s Staff selects one member to represent the Club as the Youth of the Year. The Youth of the Year is recognized locally at the Club, and at a dinner with all the Youth of the Year recipients from every Club in Massachusetts.
