The course has been measured and sanctioned by the USATF.  Miles are accurately placed and clearly marked.  The race starts at the Steamship Authority Terminal in Vineyard Haven and ends at the Oak Bluffs School.  It is mostly flat with a few hills around mile 2-3, some small hills in the forest section and the last 3 miles.  If you are from hill country you wont even notice.  Most of the course is on bike paths and sidewalks, and we ask that runners do not run in the road when paths are available.  The roads will be open to traffic.  Aid stations are located approximately every 2 miles with water and some with Gatorade.  Aid stations will have First Aid Kits and volunteer EMS will be available at the finish.  For the safety of the runners and volunteers, the course will close at 3:00pm.  We reserve the right to change the course, or cancel the race entirely if forced to by authorities.
